Christmas is Just around the corner, and my last post was about Halloween! Wow! Well, I finally have a minute to sit and write this post because the kids are napping, and I have nothing to study!! I finished my last final on Saturday. Whew! It was a tough one, and I am hoping that I passed. Jon also finished up his last Trauma shift on this rotation. He won't have trauma again until the summer.
We are gearing up for Christmas, and I for one am enjoying the mild winter weather we have been having.
One thing on my mind as of late, is the blessing of my children. Sometimes with me going back to school, Jon's busy schedule, church callings, and all the running around we do all the time I don't completely take the time to enjoy the beautiful gift I have been given of having those 3 sweet babies.
Hazel has been sleeping very poorly lately and won't even go to sleep unless someone is holding her. It is not like her at all. She has always been my best sleeper. After the tragedy in Connecticut last week, I consider it a blessing to hold that sweet baby until she drifts off to sleep.
My heart just hurts for those parents who lost their children to that terrible act of violence. As I send my little kindergartner off to school each day, I pray she will return home safely to me and have guardian angels protect her.
I just can't imagine what they must have felt to know their baby was not coming home. My mischievous little "Bubba" is a challenge, but it gives me so much joy to see him so full of life and spunk! Even on the hard days, it is so easy to see how blessed I am.
Now, if I can just live up to the challenge of being the best mom for my kids, and giving them the childhood that they deserve.

WTG on your last final, that's awesome! It sure puts things into perspective when you look at your kid around that age. I go volunteer in Chan's class once a week and I can't imagine what those first graders were feeling at that time. It makes you grateful, huh? You sure have beautiful kids and it's nice to realize how much you are blessed, even on the hard days. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!!
