Chicago

The kids and I loaded up in the car and made the 5 hour trek to Chicago to see Jon. He was ending his rotation in Columbus, and heading to Detroit, so he decided to take a detour and meet up with us in Chicago for the weekend. It was way to short, but he had a lot of fun. Our main activity was going to the Science and Industry Museum. It was really cool and we had a lot fun.

We actually stayed out in Naperville, (one of Jon's areas on his mission) so we rode the train in to the the city. Even though it was kind of a long ride, the kids enjoyed it.

They had a lot of cool planes and trains to look at. They even had a full size commercial airline plane you could walk into. That was cool. This picture cracks me up, Brynlee has her grumpy face on , Noah looks scared to death, and Jon has the cheesiest smile. Ha Ha!

This was the kids' favorite exhibit. It had all kinds of toys for little tykes to play with, and it had a water feature that you could float little balls down a stream, and shoot water at, and all kinds of things. They were both soaked by the end.

They had a farm exhibit, and the kids loved it! I know they are farm kids at heart!

They had a full size tractor and combine you could sit in, and pretend to drive. The kids loved it. Noah kept running back to them,

This was a cool light room. You could pick what colors would be on, and mix them, etc.

They had a little climbing wall and the kids did great.

Here is a little mini model of Chicago. It was actually a train model, and they had trains running through the model.

The Binky Astronaut!

They also have the U505 submarine. I had never seen a submarine before. It was massive!

The kids also enjoyed swimming in the hotel pool! We had a lot of fun, and we are already planning a trip to go back in two weeks. There is so much to see in Chicago! What to do next??
